RICHMOND, Va. -- State police said the man ejected in a crash on Interstate 95 late Saturday night has died.

Troopers were called to the single-vehicle crash on I-95 south near the exit for Arthur Ashe Boulevard just before 11:30 p.m.

Sgt. Keeli L. Hill with Virginia State Police said 30-year-old Devonta L. Davis, of Carson, Virginia, was headed south on I-95 when he veered left and hit the jersey wall before his car "overturned several times."

Troopers said Davis, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected during the wreck.

Davis was taken to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries, Hill said.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
