Death investigation underway after man shot, killed in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- A death investigation is underway after a man was found shot in Richmond's Fulton neighborhood Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the Fulton neighborhood for the report of shots fired at approximately 3:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man in the 1300 block of Nelson Street who had suffered from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he died.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

The Major Crimes division’s detectives are investigating and believe the shooting occurred nearby, in the 1400 block of Garber Street.
