POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. -- The Powhatan Sheriff's office says three people were shot and the suspected shooter is dead after a domestic violence situation in a home Monday night.

The Sheriff's Office received a call around 8 p.m. for a domestic dispute at a home on Old Buckingham Road. The caller said a family member in the home had a gun and was pointing it at people.

Seconds after the call came in, three people were shot, investigators said.

Crime Insider sources told reporter Jon Burkett a woman was shot in her elbow and torso and two others were also taken to the hospital.

The Sheriff's office said all three victims ran from the home after the shooting, and all are injured, but alive.

Witnesses saw ambulances and a med-flight at the home.

Deputies said the gunman went back into the home after they responded. Law enforcement then created a perimeter around the home and members of the Chesterfield County and Richmond tactical team were called in to assist.

Investigators eventually entered the home and found the body of 56-year-old Raymond Morlock Jr.

This is a developing story and will be updated as details become available.
