RICHMOND, Va. -- Multiple dance and and song performances were some of the highlights of the 37th annual Dominion Energy Christmas Parade, which was filmed Saturday and will be televised exclusively on WTVR CBS 6 on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The parade was hosted by Cheryl Miller and Rob Cardwell, who were joined by Reba Hollingsworth and Greg McQuade.

The event, which was virtual this year because of the pandemic, was recorded at Bon Secours Training Camp with decorations help from Busch Gardens.

April O’Quinn, Richmond native and Richmond Ambulance Authority EMT, served as the official Grand Marshal.

“April O’Quinn has such an inspiring story and embodies what it means to be a true hero as a frontline worker,” Parade Director Beth Karrer said “We are so grateful to April and all of the Richmond Ambulance Authority crew for their work in the Richmond community.”

In addition to the performances from local and regional entertainment groups, community stories and a special competition showcasing homemade float entries, the broadcast will also feature “best of” clips of floats, balloons, and marching bands.

The CBS 6 Backyard Weather Center float, courtesy of Colesville Nursery, was manned by our CBS 6 team and joined by the Crime Insider race car.

And of course the parade featured Santa's return for the grand finale, but there was a lot of action from start to finish.

WTVR CBS 6 will broadcast the parade on television and at WTVR.com beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. The parade will also be rebroadcast on Christmas Day.
