Chesterfield man charged with murdering pregnant Richmond woman

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police arrested a 36-year-old Chesterfield man now charged with murdering a Richmond woman.

Francesca Harris-Scarborough, 31, was found shot to death April 9 in a car on Blakey Street.

“She meant everything to me. She meant everything to us,” Francesca’s brotherJ’ean Harris told WTVR back in April. “A part of us is gone. I feel like someone took part of my soul from me and my brother. It'll never be the same again.”

J'ean added whomever was responsible for his sister's death took more than just her life, as his sister was around four months pregnant.

Richmond Police announced Tuesday that Everett L. Bolling, Jr., 36, of Chesterfield was arrested last Friday. Bolling was charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved sister, cousin, daughter, aunt and friend Francesca," her family said in a statement. "News of the recent arrest is encouraging however we will continue to seeking justice for Francesca’s murder. We are grateful for the time and energy that detective J. Larry and the Richmond Police Department have invested into this case. As we continue on our pursuit of justice with hopes of reaching some sort of closure, we fully expect and await a conviction and subsequent sentence for this senseless act.“

Police did not disclose a possible motive, nor what evidence led detectives to arrest Bolling.
