CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors announced Monday they will allocate $10 million to fund pay raises for more than 4,700 teachers in the county.

The pay raise is included in school funding for fiscal year 2022.

Chesterfield County Government officials said teachers would receive a raise ranging from 1% to 11% based on years of service. The additional $10 million in local funds will fund the pay raise.

Additionally, the Board announced $58 million will go toward school maintenance and $8 million will be used for bonuses for staff.

More details about the plan will be unveiled during a meeting on March 10.

The fiscal year 2022 budget will not be adopted until April. The fiscal year 2022 begins July 1, 2021.
