Pedestrian killed in multi-vehicle incident in Downtown Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- A man is dead after being hit by a car early Friday morning in the 700 block of East Broad Street.

Richmond Police responded to the scene just before 7 a.m. The man was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said multiple vehicles were involved in the incident and the drivers were also transported to local hospitals, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A portion of Broad Street between 6th and 9th Streets has been closed while police continue to investigate.
