HOPEWELL, Va. -- As live music returns to Hopewell's Beacon Theatre Saturday night, the venue is making some changes in order to keep concertgoers safe.

Country star Sara Evans had originally had a concert scheduled in March, but COVID-19 forced the theater to postpone the event.

The concert is rescheduled for Saturday, July 25, but organizers are splitting up the performance into two separate shows to accommodate for social distancing.

The first show is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the second show is at 9 p.m.

Theatre general manager Laurin Willis explained how they're trying to protect guests from the coronavirus.

"Everyone's required to wear a mask for the show. We're gonna take temperatures of everyone who comes in. We're gonna have hand sanitizer available and we're gonna space everybody so we can have a great show," said Willis.

Tickets are still available for purchase online and will be sold at the door.
