SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. -- Police have made an arrest in a shooting in Spotsylvania County last Tuesday that left a man injured.
On Tuesday, September 15 around 10:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Salem Run Apartment Complex on Acree Avenue for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, witnesses said there had been an altercation between two men that left a male victim shot in the arm.
With the assistance of the United States Marshal service and the Virginia State Police, Marshall Lynn Albritton Jr. of Stafford County was arrested in connection to the shooting.
Albritton was located driving on I95 Northbound in Strafford County when taken into custody without incident.
He has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
Detective J. Basil identified Albritton as the shooter after several interviews with witnesses.
“Deputies were able to locate a shell casing as well as a blood trail, however no victim or suspect. Moments later, a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital," said a sheriff spokesperson. "Upon interviewing the victim who sustained a gunshot to the bicep, told detectives he and the suspect got into a verbal altercation outside in the parking lot. The suspect was known to the victim’s associates who were with him."
He is currently being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
