Henrico teen killed in July 4 shooting

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico teenager was shot and killed on July 4 along the 300 block of Engleside Drive, according to Henrico Police.

Marquan Demont Lane, 19, of Henrico County, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police were called to the intersection of Engleside Drive and Elba Street just before midnight to investigate the shooting.

More than a dozen people were shot over the four-day holiday weekend in Central Virginia cities and counties, according to local police departments and Crime Insider sources.

On Saturday, July 3, 16-year-old Jamirah Washington was shot and killed in Henrico. There was no initial indication the two shootings were connected.
