HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico man was shot and killed Friday morning at a West End apartment complex.
John D. Appleton, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Henrico Police.
Police were called to the 3300 block of Sandy Spring Way, between West Broad Street and Mayland Drive, at about 12:30 a.m. after neighbors heard gunshots.
"Henrico Police and EMS arrived on the scene and located an adult male who was shot," a Henrico Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "Henrico Police have been on scene investigating throughout the early morning hours but need additional information. Within this apartment community, people may have seen or heard details, which may help detectives in the case."
