Woman dies after an apparent stabbing in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- A woman has died from an apparent stabbing in Richmond.

Richmond Police were called to the 2100 block of Bainbridge Street, near Hull Street and Cowardin Avenue, at about 8:09 a.m. to investigate a report of a stabbing.

"[Police] located an adult female with apparent stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries," a Richmond Police spokesperson wrote in an email. "The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death."
