Police: Man who fired shots at Henrico officers charged with marijuana crimes

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police released additional details about a Thursday morning incident on Crenshaw Road, near Chamberlayne Road, in Henrico County.

Officers responded to a home in the 5600 block of Crenshaw Road at 6 a.m. to perform a "knock and announce search warrant," according to Henrico Police.

"In the process of knocking and announcing, shots were fired at the police officers," an email from a Henrico Police spokesperson read. "Officers did not return fire and negotiated with the occupants to exit the residence."

No one was hurt, according to police.

Anthony Chieffo, 20, of Henrico, was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possessing a firearm while selling more than a pound of marijuana.

"The shooting investigation remains ongoing and we are consulting with the Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for possible future charges," the email concluded.
