RICHMOND, Va. -- A 20-year-old Richmond man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl.
On July 14, a woman reported to Richmond Police that she believed her daughter had had an inappropriate relationship with Timothy Gray Huth-Scruggs.
Police say that the two had been corresponding via the app SnapChat.
The 12-year-old victim told Huth-Scruggs that she was 13, and 20-year-old Huth-Scruggs said that he was 16.
Sometime between July 6 and July 8 in the early morning hours, Huth-Scruggs drove from Richmond to James City County and picked up the victim from her home. They drove to a parking lot in the County where the two had sexual intercourse.
Huth-Scruggs has been charged with felony rape, object sexual penetration, aggravated sexual battery, and 2 counts of use of electronic means to solicit a child in a sex crime.
Huth-Scruggs was arrested on July 17 and transported to VPRJ. This remains an active investigation.
