HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – An employee at the Willow Lawn Kroger grocery store in Henrico County has tested positive for COVID-19.

A Kroger spokesperson says the associate is quarantined at home and receiving medical care.

“We are saddened by this news and wishing this associate the best as they get well,” said Allison McGee, corporate affairs manager with Kroger Mid-Atlantic.

Since learning of the positive diagnosis, an extensive deep cleaning and sanitation was completed inside the store, said McGee.

“On an ongoing basis, we have aggressive cleaning and sanitation procedures in place at all of our stores and are continuing to adhere to all guidance from local, state and federal agencies, including the CDC,” said McGee.

Kroger says they are now limiting the number of customers to 50% of the building code's calculated capacity to allow for proper physical distancing in stores.

Kroger has also installed plexiglass at cash registers and counters and added educational floor decals to promote physical distancing.
