Where Chesterfield residents can get a free COVID-19 test in August

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The Chesterfield Health Department is hosting another round of free COVID-19 testing in August.

The testing is part of a statewide push to increase testing across the commonwealth, particularly for low-income and uninsured Virginians.

The free testing is being offered for people who have COVID-19 symptoms and who may not have insurance, or whose insurance does not cover COVID-19.

The free testing is for residents of the Chesterfield Health District, which includes the counties of Chesterfield and Powhatan and the City of Colonial Heights.

Health officials urge residents to make an appointment prior to arrival. Appointments should be made with the Chesterfield Health Department at 804-318-8207 before each event.

While some appointments will be reserved for walk-ups, testing is limited.

Testing will take place in July at the following locations:

Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020 at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Bellwood Maisonettes Apartments
6745 Jefferson Davis Highway
Walk-up Event

Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
First Baptist Church of South Richmond
6201 Ironbridge Road
Drive-thru Event

Wednesday, Aug.12, 2020 at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Beulah United Methodist Church
6930 Hopkins Road
Drive-thru Event

Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at noon – 2 p.m.
Jeff Davis Flea Market

Spanish speaking staff will be present during the testing events.

Residents who may be experiencing COVID-19 symptoms as defined by the CDC, is asked to call the Chesterfield Health Department at 804-318-8207 to make an appointment.
