RICHMOND, Va. -- Highs across parts of the area reached the upper 70s and lower 80s on Friday.
Richmond International Airport's high of 80° marked the warmest temperature since Halloween.
Following the passage of a cold front, highs were closer to 60° Saturday.
Clouds and a northeasterly wind will keeps highs in the 40s to lower 50s Sunday.
Temperatures will remain below normal on Monday, but highs will break 60° Tuesday through Thursday. A warm front will push highs near 80° on Friday.
The vernal equinox, the start of astronomical Spring, occurs at 11:50 p.m. Thursday. This is the earliest vernal equinox in over 100 years! It will be a very warm first full day of Spring on Friday.
