DELTAVILLE, Va., — While many families are spending much more time at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, a local contractor is donating their services to a family in need.

Jen Campbell and John Jenney run PBS Crawlspace Specialists based in Deltaville.

“We want the opportunity to show the public that it does not require a second mortgage to have this necessary work completed,” they explained.

This isn’t the first good deed the couple has performed.

In October 2019, PBS Crawlspace Specialists in Deltaville reached out to help the Richmond Wildlife Center for free and added insulation and completed electrical work on a shed.

That shed is vital to keeping animals, like a goose without a bill, warm during the winter months.

“We’ve been blessed enough to stay busy so we want to make sure we are giving back to community by doing this for somebody,” Jenney stated. “People have misconceptions of what this really costs and that’s part of this education process.”

The owners said they have already donated supplies and labor to several families that can cost anywhere from $6,000 to $10,000. They said often customers receive estimates that exceed their budgets.

Now, they want to donate their services to a family in need who live in Virginia.

“We want to bring awareness to homeowners, while hopefully triggering a chain reaction of the act of giving,” Campbell explained.
