Amanda Lanyon with Randolph-Macon Softball was named the 2026 Female Athlete of the Year at the RVA Sports Awards.
Amanda led the Yellow Jackets to Division III World Series national semifinals and is an RMC Softball all-time leader in several offensive categories. She exemplifies all the positive aspects of sport and has made a positive impact on the Richmond community in 2025.
"I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had a part in putting this event together. Thank you to all who have been a part of my softball journey, and a special thank you to my mom, family, friends, coaches and teammates," she said moments after accepting her award. "I truly appreciate all that have been supporting me along the way, and I wouldn't be able to be here without them. Thank you for the support and encouragement, and I'm so grateful to be recognized for this award. Thank you all."
