RICHMOND, Va. -- The Elite Contracting Group Four Miles for Kids presented by Heartland Concrete event to benefit the children and families at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU is Saturday, Oct. 3.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's course begins wherever participants would like to go: neighborhood streets, park trails or indoor treadmills.

"Illness and injury have not stopped during the pandemic, so the work at CHoR has not stopped these past five months either," event organizers said. "Daily necessary care is continuing to be provided to children, and construction is continuing on the new inpatient tower that will be completed in Spring of 2023. The facility will provide a new home for children’s emergency, trauma and inpatient care; playrooms and amenities; education, community and performance spaces; and so much more."

All entrants will receive a race shirt, and patient champion participants (current or former CHoR patients) will receive a custom participant medal.

Participants can also form teams with family, friends and neighbors and compete for top fundraising incentives, like a swag bag, online recognition and even a visit from a food truck for the top team.
