RICHMOND, Va. -- Musician James Saxsmo Gates is a busy man. He is teaching nine classes at Virginia State University, he has a hit new record “Stepping Out,” and he will be performing Friday at the Black History Museum, for a kick-off concert for this weekend’s 32nd annual 2nd Street Festival.
The virtual fundraiser will benefit the Black History Museum and Trumpeting for the Arts which donates instruments to students.
Musicians Phil Foster, Fabian Lance Dickerson, Matthew Steele, and host Antoinette Essa will join Gates on the museum’s Facebook live starting at 7:30 p.m. Click here for details .
