CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Last week the Richmond Animal League (RAL) asked for the public’s help to fill up their food pantry for animals in need.

RAL said they were down to one bag of cat food and a couple bags of dog food. So, they created an Amazon wish list with dozens of the items that they need.

In the latest addition of CBS 6 Gives, meteorologist Mike Stone made a $150 donation towards the items that they need. Stone also shared how you can help too.

If you want to help, you can find the Amazon wish list here.

“Part of our CBS 6 Gives is we always ask the recipients to pay it forward, and RAL does that everyday finding forever homes for animals,” said Stone.

The food pantry was set up in response to COVID-19 and the finical impact it is having on families.

“We don’t want anyone to have to give up their dog or cat because they can’t afford food,” said a spokesperson.
