RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond restaurant community is filled with people who give their time and talent to make others happy.

As we all know - the pandemic has ravaged the restaurant industry.

That's one reason why Eat it, Virginia! podcast hosts Scott Wise and Robey Martin wanted to highlight Sub Rosa bakery as part of the CBS 6 Month of Giving.

Sub Rosa takes part in a program that delivers bread to community members who need it the most.

"We're working with Mutual Aid Disaster Relief," Maddie, with Sub Rosa, said. "We bake 40 to 50 loaves a week. And we knew [MAD RVA] is great with distributing, they're a great resource center. So, they help get the bread loaves to people in need in Richmond, Henrico, and parts of Chesterfield."

Sub Rosa employees, along with the help of community donations, have been covering the cost of $5 per loaf of bread.

Scott and Robey, with the help of Virginia Credit Union, donated money to Sub Rosa to help cover the costs for a week's worth of bread for the community.

Thank you, Sub Rosa!
