RICHMOND, Va. -- Antoinette Essa used her CBS 6 Gives segment to reach out and help Kemel Patton.
The Mechanicsville man, known as the Line Dance King of Virginia, spent more than a week in the hospital last month recovering from COVID-19.
As part of her CBS 6 Gives segment, Essa thanked Patton for his commitment to the community and presented him with a gift card.
"You give so much to so many people in your passion for dancing, even with all your underlying issues," Essa said. "You get out there, you show people how to line dance and grab people and bring them onto the dance floor and you just give so much to people."
Patton, who lives with Multiple Sclerosis and congestive heart failure, was appreciative of the recognition.
"Thank you so much," he said through tears.
