RICHMOND, Va. — Maldini’s Ristorante Italiano has once again opened its doors to those in need.

The Richmond restaurant, located at 4811 Forest Hill Avenue, is serving a free Christmas meal from noon – 4 p.m.

“It’s about teaching my kids the importance of Christmas,” Maldini’s owner Marcello Armetta said. “Christmas is not just about receiving gifts. Christmas is a very special day, it is the day you give.”

This is the sixth Christmas the restaurant has opened its doors to those without homes or help over the holidays.

“Christmas Day was the only day I closed the restaurant to spend time with my family, but six years ago I told my wife why don’t want open the restaurant for people who need,” Armetta said. “We can spend our Christmas like that. She agreed and said it was a great idea.”
