RICHMOND, Va. -- The latest modeling of Hurricane Dorian's track are in surprising agreement .

At this time [Monday 3:30 p.m.] Dorian will move parallel to the coast of Florida, after some weakening over the next day or so, it could restrengthen near southern Georgia.

The path will then take the storm near the Outer Banks, before going out to sea on Friday.

This path would not create catastrophic results for the Carolinas nor Virginia, but a prolonged period of heavy rain and wind gusts of 60-75 mph would cause inland flooding, storm surge and structural damage. This would include Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore.

Depending on the exact track, this could include coastal areas of the Chesapeake Bay.

The timing would be Thursday with rain and wind, with gusty conditions remaining on Friday.

The Richmond area could experience rain and wind gusts of 30-40.

Additional details can be found in the CBS 6 Hurricane Tracker.
