CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- The stretch of Huguenot Road in Chesterfield County that was shutdown for hours Saturday afternoon reopened around 7:40 p.m., according to Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) officials.

Chesterfield Police were called to the crash at the intersection of Robious and Huguenot just before 12:25 p.m.

VDOT officials said the crash closed all lanes of Huguenot between Robious Road and Featherstone Drive.

Lt. Jason Elmore with Chesterfield Fire and EMS said the road was expected to be closed "5-6 hours due to vehicle crash that caused damage to a power pole."

"Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route until further notice," VDOT officials warned.
