CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police are searching for a man who ran from his crashed car early Thursday morning.

"At approximately, 1:31 a.m., a Virginia State Police trooper observed a 2017 Hyundai 4-door sedan enter radar at a high rate of speed at northbound I-95 at the 66 mile marker. The trooper activated his emergency equipment to perform a traffic stop. The male subject driving the car refused to stop and a pursuit was then initiated," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said. "[He] continued to drive recklessly from I-95, to Chippenham Parkway, Hull Street, and ended when the subject lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch at Turner Road and Belmont."

The driver got out of his car and ran. Richmond Police, Chesterfield Police, and Virginia State Police are looking for the man.
