LOUISA COUNTY, Va. –The Medical Examiner’s office will determine an official cause of death but deputies in Louisa say they believe the discovery of two bodies Tuesday indicate a murder-suicide at that home.

It's normal in Louisa County to hear heavy traffic on James Madison Highway, or farm equipment rumbling through root-pocked fields.

But country living was interrupted Tuesday morning by the sound of police cruisers racing into a local driveway.

"I didn't think a whole lot of it, until six of them piled up in there and state police showed up so we figured something pretty serious had happened,” said Max Jackson, who lives next door.

Around 10:30 a.m. deputies were called to the home for a reported murder-suicide. Deputies went inside and found the bodies of a 60-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman.

Crime Insider sources tell me investigators believe the man killed the woman before killing himself.

"He really didn't interact with us that much," said Jackson.

Neighbors say they heard about four gunshots around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. Deputies haven't said if those shots are related to the investigation, saying that they are in the early stages and in the process of notifying family members of the deceased.

Jackson says he will have to explain the violence to his children, once he gets more concrete information. "It's gonna’ be difficult,” Jackson said.  “We will wait and hear what exactly happened and explain it the best way we can to the kids."

Investigators say they will release the names on Wednesday.  They were in the process of notifying family in Louisa late Tuesday night
