One dead after Richmond shooting, suspect may have fled on bike

RICHMOND, Va. -- A man is dead and police are conducting a death investigation after a shooting in Richmond Tuesday evening.

Around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Halifax Ave. for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police have not released details about a shooting suspect, other than he may have been seen leaving the scene on a bicycle.

A second shooting was reported about two hours later, near the intersection of North and Yancy Avenue in Richmond.

When police arrived they found a 19-year-old man suffering from non-life threatening injuries.
