Minor taken into custody for Shockoe Bottom carjacking

RICHMOND, Va. — A “juvenile female” was taken into custody in connection with a Shockoe Bottom carjacking, according to Richmond Police.

Two people were parking their car along the 100 block of N. 19th Street when five people approached the car.

“Two of the suspects were armed and ordered the victims to get out of the car,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “All of the suspects got into the vehicle and fled.”

No one was hurt during crime.

“Several hours later officers recovered the vehicle in the 700 block of East 19th Street,” the police spokesperson continued. “A juvenile female was taken into custody.”
