Man killed crossing I-95 in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- A man was killed attempting to cross Interstate 95 in downtown Richmond, according to Virginia State Police.

Police responded to the crash along northbound I-95 at exit 76A at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.

An investigation revealed the man, believed to be intoxicated, was attempting to cross northbound I-95 when the driver of a Mazda van struck him.

The man died at the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

Police have not yet released the man's name.

The crash remained under investigation.
