Men found wounded blocks apart after South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police investigating a double shooting in South Richmond that took place around 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Officers were called to the 3000 block of Hull Street for a shooting, according to police.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male down in the middle of Hull Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, officers located a second adult male was located a few blocks over in the 3000 block of Stockton Street suffering from a gunshot wound.

The second victim was also transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the incident is being investigated as a double shooting as both victims were shot at the same time and in the same location.

“The victims ran separate ways following the shooting and thus were located in two different places,” said Captain Jason Hudson.

Crime Insider sources say shell casings from a rifle as well as a mask were found on the scene.

Neighbors say they heard more than a dozen shots ring out.

Investigators say they are attempting to locate any witnesses to the shooting.

No suspect information was available at last check.
