RICHMOND, Va. -- Department of Public Works crews evacuated a section of Church Hill in Richmond after reports of a gas leak Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to 31st and S Streets sometime around 9 a.m.
Some neighbors were evacuated while others were told to shelter in place.
Crews arrived to repair the damage and city officials later said the leak was under control.
