RICHMOND, Va. -- No one was injured during a Friday morning incident inside a Richmond home. Shots were fired during a fight between sisters inside the home near the corner of Lacelot Avenue and Jeff Davis Highway in South Richmond at about 7:30 a.m., Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett.
Richmond Police Officers, the SWAT team, and paramedics responded.
"I saw SWAT team with their armored vehicles, I was like ‘oh this is serious.’ Every time I came to the door, they said sir go back inside," said one neighbor.
"One of the siblings ran out of the house," Acting Deputy Richmond Police Chief Darrell Goins said. "At that point, the other sibling would not come out of the house. She was in the house with her small child. The child was not in any danger. We were able to talk to her and convince her to come out."
The infant’s mother was arrested. Neighbors say she shot in the direction of the sisters car where a toddler was inside.
Crime Insider sources say, and neighbors confirm that the argument was over laundry. An argument that neighbors say they've heard before.
An investigation into the three-hour incident is underway.
