HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A manhunt ended Wednesday night in Henrico County after officers caught an armed robbery suspect who fled from police during a traffic stop earlier in the day.

Tyron Lorenzo Allen, 32, was wanted out of Charles City County for multiple armed robberies.

"On October 24, 2018, around 11:53 PM, Tyron Allen was taken into custody while on foot on 895," a Henrico Police spokesperson wrote in a statement on the situation.

About seven hours earlier, Henrico Police were called to E. Nine Mile Road and Airport Drive to help Charles City Sheriff’s deputies apprehend Allen. During a traffic stop, Allen drove off, according to police.

Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett a chase ensued and continued around Richmond International Airport at a high rate of speed.

After crashing his car, Allen ran from police.

Burkett reported a plane and helicopter were used to search for Allen.

Allen had multiple outstanding warrants, including multiple warrants for armed robbery in Charles City County.
