Police identify Richmond man shot and killed off of Midlothian Turnpike

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have identified the Richmond man shot and killed on Melmark Court off of Midlothian Turnpike Monday afternoon.

Around 12:45 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a call for a person shot off of the 400 block of Melmark Court.

Once on scene, police found an adult male with life-threatening injuries.

The victim, identified as Rolando D. Williams Jr., 24, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Police have not released any suspect information at this time and say the homicide is an ongoing investigation.
