RICHMOND, Va. -- A Richmond man has died after being shot multiple times in Mosby Court Monday night.

“At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responding to a call of random gunfire were driving in the area of Accommodation and Coalter streets when they were flagged down by a person driving a vehicle who was attempting to transport the male victim of the shooting to the hospital,” said Richmond Police spokesperson James Mercante.

When officers arrived to Redd Street, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Crime Insider sources said the victim was sitting on the back stoop of his apartment when one, or more, shooters walked by and opened fire. Those gunshots hit the man several times in the torso.

Detectives believe the shooting occurred behind a building in the 1900 block of Redd Street.

At this time, no suspect information is available.

This is a developing story.
