33 people displaced after fire at Midlothian Village Apartments

RICHMOND, Va. -- Two adults and a child escaped a fire inside their Midlothian Village apartment, along the 4010 Midlothian Turnpike, Thursday.

The fire was on the third floor of the apartment complex, according to firefighters.

A total of 33 people were displaced by the fire, according to the American Red Cross.

"The families were provided with emergency disaster assistance that they can use for such things as Immediate food, shelter and clothing," said a Red Cross spokesperson. "We will also meet with any residents who were not on scene who were impacted by the fire."

The cause of fire and the exact location where fire started remained under investigation
