Teen McDonald’s worker killed on West Broad Street after work

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A teenage McDonald's worker was killed Wednesday night walking home from the West Broad Street fast food restaurant where he worked, Crime Insider sources shared with Jon Burkett. The teenager's name has not yet been released by Henrico Police and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

"[The driver of a] Ford Explorer traveling westbound on West Broad Street struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross West Broad Street," a Henrico Police spokesperson said. "The 17-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene."

The driver of the vehicle that struck the teenager stopped at the scene and spoke with police.

"Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation," the police spokesperson continued. "No charges have been filed."

The incident happened by the McDonald's near the Libbie Place Shopping Center.

Witnesses performed CPR on the victim and called police, Crime Insider sources said.

Henrico Police closed westbound lanes of West Broad Street Wednesday night while they investigated.
