CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A three-vehicle crash shutdown Jefferson Davis Highway at Dundas Road in Chesterfield County for hours Sunday.
Police were called to the 6500 block of Jeff Davis just before 8:30 p.m.
"Police said a sedan was travelling Northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway in the Southbound travel lane when it was struck by a SUV turning left onto Dundas Road," Lt. R. M. Granderson with Chesterfield Police said. "The sedan then collided with another vehicle on Jefferson Davis Highway as it awaited the light cycle."
Granderson said a passenger in the sedan was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A CBS 6 crew on the scene spotted one car in the median of the highway.
At last check at 10:50 p.m., all lanes of Jefferson Davis Highway remained closed.
Police said their investigation into the crash is ongoing.
