RICHMOND, Va. -- Two men are dead as Richmond Police conducted what was being referred to as a death investigation Monday morning in Richmond.

Officers first responded to the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue, in Washington Park, around 11 p.m. Sunday.

There officers found two deceased shooting victims.

Officers remained on scene as the sun rose hours later Monday morning -- where many neighbors were still in shock.

"First we heard the gunshots and my kids jumped up, ran into our room, then we heard car speed off," said Anthony Brewer.

Brewer lives in the Washington Community. Just several houses down from where shots were fired Sunday night.

"A person who can take another person's life has no soul," Brewer said.

He said his first concern are his three children.

"There's a daycare right here," Brewer said.

Nelson Robinson also lives a few houses down from the scene of Sunday's shooting. He said the shots sounded extremely close.

"Had my wife get on the floor. Then we waited it out,’Robinson said.

Other neighbors met in the streets hugging and crying, saying the violence needs to stop.

The names of the shooting victims have not yet been released.

Details into who police were looking for as a possible shooting suspect have also not yet been released.

This is a developing story. Witnesses can send news tips, photos, and video here.

Anyone with information about the shooting can also call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
