RICHMOND, Va. — Police have charged a Maryland man with reckless driving after the Enterprise Rental furniture truck he was driving overturned on Interstate 95 Sunday afternoon.

The wreck happened near the exit for Franklin Street (74B) just after 2 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95. State Police’s preliminary investigation revealed that 25-year-old Wilson Munoz of Maryland was driving the truck when he hit the left jersey wall just south of Broad Street and lost control, overturning the truck before it finally came to rest at Franklin Street.

Munoz was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries to his hand. He was checked on scene by EMS personnel and declined to go to the hospital.

Police have charged him with reckless driving – failure to maintain control.

VDOT reported the crash closed all lanes of the interstate with the exception of the left lane and that there was a 1.5 mile backup. The exit ramp was also closed.

As of 5:10 p.m., all of the southbound lanes and the ramp at exit 74B were open and the backup was clear.
