RICHMOND, Va. --A steady rainfall moved into Virginia Friday night.  Temperatures around daybreak were in the 50s in many locations, but a cold front dropped temperatures quickly.

Rain will be more scattered this afternoon, with higher chances near the North Carolina border.   Temperatures north of Richmond will be in the mid 30s to lower 40s, and a few sleet pellets may mix in.  Temperatures will be in the upper 30s/lower 40s in the metro, and the low to mid 40s south.  Wind speeds will produce wind chills in the low to mid 30s.

A second piece of energy will increase chances of precipitation this evening.  It may get cold enough to mix in some sleet or wet snow with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s, but it looks like it will be too warm for any long period of snow. Accumulations, if any, will be limited to grassy surfaces, and only where a burst of snow occurs.

Precipitation will exit by around midnight, followed by decrease clouds towards morning.  Lows will be in the upper 20s northwest to the low and mid 30s across the metro.  Sunday afternoon will be partly to mostly sunny with highs in the 50s.
