WAVERLY, Va. -- Waverly Police Chief Derrick Banks was suspended Monday due to a controversy in a criminal investigation, according to Crime Insider sources.
Multiple Crime Insider sources say the suspension comes without pay.

Those sources say at least two Waverly council members have called for an emergency meeting Friday afternoon since they were never informed of the suspension until it was after the fact.
