CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A man was killed late Thursday night when he was hit by a car while he walked on Jefferson Davis Highway in Chesterfield, according to police. It happened in the 14600 block of Jeff Davis Highway at about 11 p.m.

"A [man] was walking southbound on Jefferson Davis Hwy when he was struck by a Toyota sedan. The victim died at the scene," a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. "The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin."
