HOMELAND filming SWAT scenes in downtown Richmond this Friday

RICHMOND, Va. -- If you see people wearing SWAT uniforms and holding guns in downtown Richmond this Friday, don’t be alarmed.

HOMELAND, Showtime’s Emmy Award winning drama, will be filming scenes for Season 7 at the Locks Apartment Complex between 2:00 p.m. to midnight.

Actors portraying SWAT team members will be dressed in uniform and will have prop weapons.

The scenes will take place Friday, December 15 near the Gate 5 Building at 275 South 12th Street. There will be road closures and no parking signs posted in the area. Local traffic only will be allowed to get to their residence or destination.

“No Parking” signs will be posted in the following locations from 8:00 a.m. to midnight:

  • East Byrd between South 10th and South 12th Streets
  • Parking spaces behind Gate 5 Building (Locks parking will not be affected)

Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin star in the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show about the CIA, terrorism, and politics.

HOMELAND will be filming in Richmond and surrounding areas through February 2018.
