$3,500 reward offered for information on who started fire at Amazon facility

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Law Enforcement agencies are now offering a $3,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person who started a fire at the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Chester.

The incident happened Friday morning at the Amazon Fulfillment Center, located at 1901 Meadowville Technology Parkway.

“At about 5 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, firefighters responded to the facility for a report of smoke in the building. Upon arrival, firefighters located a fire that had been extinguished before their arrival,” said a police spokesperson. “The fire occurred in a shipping bin on the facility’s first floor. No one was injured.”

Police say the investigation indicates the fire was caused by an incendiary device.

Chesterfield Police, working in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Chesterfield Fire and EMS, continue to investigate the fire.

The ATF is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Additionally, Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000, bring the total to $3,500.
