1 person killed after car runs off road into Chesterfield woods

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating a deadly single-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Chesterfield County.

Lt. Edward M. Pierpont with Chesterfield Police said the crash happened in the 1600 block of Meadowville Road around 9:20 p.m.

“The vehicle was traveling east on Meadowville Road when the operator ran off the road into a wooded area,” Pierpont said.

The name of the driver, who died at the scene, is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

There has been no word yet if weather was a factor in the crash.

Police said their investigating into the crash is ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the department’s Traffic Safety Section at 804-748-1785.
