SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. — Hannah Elizabeth Feinberg, a 27-year-old woman from Chesapeake, and a five-year-old child were killed on Route 460 in Sussex County, according to Virginia State Police.

Feinberg was driving west late Friday night on Route 460, near Cabin Point Road (Route 602) when she lost control of her 2012 Honda Civic, investigators said.

“[The car ran] off the roadway and struck a guardrail causing the vehicle to spin out into the eastbound lanes and into the path of a 2013 Peterbuilt tractor trailer,” Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya said. “Ms. Feinberg was not wearing her safety belt at the time of the accident.”

Police did not release the relationship between Feinberg and the child.

Snow was falling in Virginia Friday evening into Saturday morning, however police have not said if the weather played a role in the crash.

Witnesses to the crash or friends of Ms. Feinberg can send news tips and photos here.
